Title : "New Results from CMS: from 8 to 13 TeV"

Abstract : The first LHC run after the long shutdown of 2013-2014 at 13 TeV opened uncharted
territory of much higher collision energy than ever achieved before. I'll cover the first
physics results obtained by the CMS Collaboration with these new data, as well as the
latest results based on the LHC Run 1 data, which are still being analyzed in a number
of sophisticated and inventive ways (e.g., analyses based on "parked data"). While
the main focus of this talk is on searches for new physics and full exploration of the
recently discovered Higgs boson, I'll also highlight some of the recent precision
standard model measurements and results from the heavy-ion physics program.

Notes: This is a joint experimental-theory talk with attendees from UMD and Johns Hopkins University. Lunch will be served outside PSC room 3150 at 12:30 PM.
