Title : "Boosting New Physics Searches Using Jets and Calorimetry at the Energy Frontier of Particle Physics"

Abstract : The Large Hadron Collider has already uncovered the Higgs boson and the ATLAS and CMs experiments are continuing their searches for signatures of completely new physics at the energy frontier of science. I will present new results in the search for new fundamental particles using new techniques for sifting through the data collected primarily by the calorimeters of the ATLAS experiment. These results use a novel technique involving "jets" in order to search for signs that new particles have indeed been produced in the proton-proton collisions. In addition, I will describe future prospects using these and other new methods for both precision measurements and new physics searches. In particular, I'll introduce the new high-speed trigger system being built in part at Chicago that is specifically designed to find boosted massive particles during the LHC Run 3 after some minor upgrades of the LHC and the ATLAS detector.
