Title: Zooming in on spacetime and matter - Renormalisation Group applications in fundamental physics
Abstract: I will show how functional Renormalisation Group tools can be used to address open questions in fundamental physics. As examples, I will focus on the Higgs sector of the Standard Model, as well as quantum gravity. In the former, I will present new results on the stability of the Higgs potential at high scales, and the corresponding bounds on the Higgs mass. In the latter, I will focus on asymptotically safe gravity, where I will discuss phenomenologically relevant bounds on the allowed number of matter degrees of freedom. These could allow to test quantum gravity at the LHC and beyond.
