Title: Ultracold Molecules for Quantum Simulation
Abstract: Ultracold atoms have become an exciting platform for studying quantum many-body physics. The much greater complexity of molecules brings new challenges in reaching ultralow temperatures but also exciting new opportunities for studying systems with long-range interactions. I will describe how we produce stable gases of molecules at microkelvin temperatures. This story will include how we use ultracold atoms to map out previously unobservable molecular potentials. Finally, I will describe the prospects for quantum state-controlled chemistry and the simulation of spin Hamiltonians relevant to quantum magnetism using our unique, long-lived triplet-state molecules.
